School of Software and Internet of Things Engineering Successfully Holds Study Abroad Information Meeting for Sino-Sweden SoftwareProgram
On the afternoon of May 7th, the School of Software and Internet of Things Engineering successfully hosted a study abroad information meeting for the Sino-Sweden Software Program at Classroom 1101, Building 1, Mailu Campus. The event aimed to provide students with comprehensive information about overseas study opportunities and help them clarify their future development paths. The meeting was hosted by Professor Liu Yanqing and featured distinguished guests including Professor William Song and Dr. Roger Nyberg from Dalarna University in Sweden, as well as alumna representative Shu Shiqi. The event attracted a large number of students, creating a lively and engagingatmosphere.
Professor William Song shared insights based on the experiences of past students, systematically outlining various aspects of studying abroad to provoke thoughtful consideration. He emphasized that the IELTS exam, as a critical language requirement for studying abroad, should be prepared for early to build a solid foundation. This would prevent students from facing challenges due to inadequate preparation during the application process or their studiesoverseas.
Professor Liu Yanqing highlighted that "opportunities favor the prepared." Mastering IELTS can facilitate a smoother transition to foreign academic programs, allowing students to make the most of their time and enhance their personal growth. She also reminded students to avoid following trends blindly and instead clarify their academic goals and career plans, broadening their horizons in diverseenvironments.
Representative Roger Nyberg from the overseas partner institution provided a detailed introduction to Dalarna University in Sweden, covering its basic conditions, geographical location, educational features, and achievements. His presentation conveyed a warm anticipation for welcoming students from the school.
Dr. Zhu Wenqiang encouraged students to consider studying abroad by analyzing the challenges of the domestic job market and the increasing difficulty of postgraduate entrance exams. Alumna Shu Shiqi shared her experiences and opportunities gained during her study abroad journey, addressing questions from fellow students about daily expenses, extracurricular life, and the local climate. The session was interactive, with frequent exchanges between speakers andattendees.
