Stochastic Geometry Empowering Wireless Networks — Our School Hosts an English-Language Lecture on Advanced

1. Special Lecture Promotes International Academic Exchange

To broaden the academic horizons of international summer school participants in the field of wireless communications, foster academic exchange between Chinese and international students, and strengthen international scholarly collaboration, our School invited Dr. Chunlin Chen to deliver a fully English-language lecture for the University's International Summer Camp on July 8. Titled Stochastic Geometry for Wireless Networks: From Mathematical Foundations to New Horizons, the lecture attracted all international participants of the summer camp.

2. From Fundamentals to Frontiers: Exploring Stochastic Geometry and Modern Wireless Communications

During the lecture, Dr. Chen guided participants through the subject in a clear and progressive manner, engaging them in face-to-face academic discussions throughout the session. He began by introducing the fundamental principles of stochastic geometry and explaining the rationale behind its application to wireless network analysis. Drawing on practical cellular communication scenarios, he demonstrated how stochastic geometry serves as a powerful mathematical framework for evaluating network performance. Building on this foundation, Dr. Chen presented the latest developments in wireless communications, highlighting cutting-edge technologies and major research directions in 5G and 6G networks. He also shared insights into emerging research trends and future opportunities, helping participants better understand key areas for academic study and scientific research.

3. Interactive Q&A Inspires Future Research

The lecture concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants actively raised questions on topics such as mathematical derivations, reproducing published research results, and selecting research topics. Dr. Chen responded to each question in detail and encouraged participants to establish a solid foundation in mathematics while moving beyond simulation-driven research by leveraging stochastic geometry for lightweight and tractable network performance analysis. He also encouraged students to stay informed of the latest academic advances, identify innovative research opportunities rooted in practical engineering challenges, and continuously strengthen both their theoretical knowledge and research capabilities.

4. Promoting Learning Through Academic Engagement and Advancing Internationalization

Closely aligned with participants' academic interests, the lecture combined theoretical depth with accessible explanations, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of key concepts in wireless communications. The event not only broadened the academic perspectives of international participants and stimulated their enthusiasm for learning and research in wireless networking, but also provided them with a deeper understanding of the School's disciplinary strengths and research achievements. It further strengthened the School's efforts to promote meaningful international academic exchange and collaboration.
