2026 Discover Jiangxi International Summer School Concludes with Success
Across Mountains andSeas,
Meetingin Jiangxi.
Inever knew porcelain could be this beautiful.
Lavrenteva Sofia from Russia held the unfired porcelain piece she had just finished, her eyes shining with delight.
It was an afternoon in July 2026 when participants of the “Discover Jiangxi” International Summer School of JUFE felt the warmth of clay with their own hands for the first time, in a ceramics workshop in Jingdezhen.

From July 5 to 16, 2026, the second “Discover Jiangxi” International Summer School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) was successfully held. The research program “Intelligent Frontiers: Software and Network Perspectives,” hosted by the School of Software and IoT Engineering, attracted over 20 international young participants from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania and other countries. Leveraging the disciplinary strengths of software engineering, IoT engineering and artificial intelligence, the program built a four-in-one research system of“frontier academic lectures + Ganpo cultural experiences + local enterprise visits + intangible cultural heritage immersion practices.”

A Journey through Ganpo:
Touching a Millennium with One's Own Hands

Fromthe Millennium-Old Porcelain Capital to State Banquet Porcelain
Atthe Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum, participants followed the thread of time—from the warm elegance of Song-dynasty qingbai porcelain, to the grandeur of Yuan-dynasty blue-and-white, to the exquisite richness of Ming and Qing wucai and famille rose. At the Hongye National Porcelain Museum, they witnessed the complete production process of state banquet porcelain: clay preparation, wheel-throwing, trimming, glazing, painting and firing—every step embodying the spirit of craftsmanship.
Themost anticipated part, however, was hands-on experience ofwheel-throwing and underglaze painting. As clay spun into shape intheir palms and brushes danced across the unfired bodies, young people of different skin colors shared the same focus and wonder in one workshop.

On Huangling Ridge: Rural Revitalization of a Sun-Drying Village
Huangling is hailed as a representative of “China's most beautiful countryside.” Terraced Hui-style dwellings stand in harmonious order, and the year-round sun-drying scenes use crops as “pigments,”unfolding a colorful scroll across white walls and black tiles.
The participants were not only captivated by the scenery; they were deeply moved by Huangling's transformation from a traditional village on the brink of abandonment into a renowned domestic and international tourist destination. The “Jiangxi model” of rural revitalization sparked cross-cultural resonance and reflection.
